Real Madrid's Daniel Carvajal Records Goal in Major League Soccer
Real Madrid defender Daniel Carvajal has made his debut for Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC, scoring the first goal of his career.
The 27-year-old was drafted by LAFC in December and joined the team on loan from Real Madrid in January.
In the 14th minute of Sunday's match against the New York Red Bulls, Carvajal scored a header to give LAFC the lead.
It was a memorable moment for the Spanish international, who had been out injured for much of the season.
Carvajal said after the game: "I'm really happy to have scored my first goal in MLS. It's a great feeling to be able to contribute to the team and help us win."
He added: "This is just the beginning of what I hope will be a long and successful career in this league."
The forward has impressed during his time at LAFC so far, scoring four goals and providing two assists in eight games.
Carvajal's arrival has provided a boost to the team,Football News Network which currently sits third in the Western Conference standings with 15 points.
His performances have also helped to secure LAFC's place in the playoffs, as they look to make their first ever appearance in the MLS Cup final.
Overall, it was a historic night for Carvajal and his new club, as he became the first Spanish player to score in Major League Soccer.
